JANUARY 2025. DURGAS, INTEGRA-II, DIREX SF6 Detection

The Independent Power Transmission Operator S.A. (IPTO) was established under Law 4001/2011 and operates as an independent transmission operator in compliance with EU Directive 2009/72/EC.

Its mission is to maintain, control, and develop Greece's Electricity Transmission System, ensuring the efficient and safe supply of electricity throughout the country. The objective is to provide a continuous and uninterrupted connection between power plants and consumption points.

This project is part of the broader initiative for the fourth phase of the electrical interconnection of the Cyclades Islands with Greece’s electricity transmission network. Gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) using SF6 at 170 kV is being implemented for indoor installations within substation buildings.

SF6 detection applies to two substation facilities on the islands of Milos and Folegandros for detecting SF6 leaks in the high-voltage switchgear area.

For this purpose, the DURGAS system has been selected, along with the INTEGRA-II Modbus integration module and DIREX detectors for SF6, all designed and manufactured by Durán Electrónica.
