Smurfit Kappa is a company with a long history in paper and packaging manufacturing. It was founded in 1934 under the name of Jefferson Smurfit, to respond to the paper and packaging necessity in the Irish market. In 2005 Jefferson Smurfit was merged with the Dutch company Kappa Packaging, becoming one of the leading companies in the packing manufacturing. It currently has 45,000 employees distributed in 350 plants.
One of these plants is located in the town of Mengíbar (Jaén). The plant is located in a strategic area for the supply to the agricultural sector in the area. Smurfit Kappa has been producing paper for corrugated cardboard for more than 50 years and it has been a driver for development of the region.
For the boiler room in Seville, they have selected DURGAS system with DURTEX HC detectors, both designed and manufactured by Durán Electrónica.
