CO detection in underground carpark

Azadliq square is the biggest in the country’s capital, Baku, and around it are located some of the most important buildings of the city, such as the Government House and luxury hotels.

The square, formerly called Lenin Square, was created in the 60’s, after construction of the Government House in 1952 and after a monument to Lenin was erected in front of it in 1955. Along with the square, the authorities built up various buildings including the “Azerbaijan” and “Absheron” hotels surrounding the square, which were later demolished and replaced by the Hilton Baku and JW Marriott Baku hotels. The statue of Lenin was removed in the beginning of the 90s and in 1991 the square became Azadliq Square (Freedom Square) after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

In 2013 an underground car park with 4,500 parking spaces was opened under the square, and is now protected by the DURPARK CO and NO2 detection system, designed and manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA.
