DECEMBER 2024. Fibre optic fire detection with Yokogawa Iberia's DTSX1 control centre.

The Plaza de Castilla tunnel, located in the Chamartín district of Madrid, gives continuity to the Paseo de la Castellana and interconnects this promenade with Calle Agustín de Foxá. The infrastructure has a total length of 1,176 metres: 734 metres covered and 442 metres in the three access ramps.

The Madrid City Council's Department of Works and Equipment has invested 1.9 million euros in the remodelling and modernisation of this tunnel which, with its six lanes, is the widest in Madrid.
The work lasted five and a half months during night-time hours in order to maintain mobility, as the tunnel has a daily traffic flow of more than 65,000 vehicles.

DURAN ELECTRONICA, as authorised distributor of YOKOGAWA IBERIA, has supplied for this tunnel the fibre optic cable and the DTSX1 2/2 central unit to renew the linear fire detection system.
