CO and NO2 detection, air quality control and linear detection cable in tunnel

The Botín Center project, developed by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop study, in collaboration with Luis Vidal and Architects, has the objective of creating a space for art, culture and educational activities, and generating a new meeting place in Santander that brings the city center closer to the bay.

The complex is composed both of buildings and public spaces that will be created around the new Pereda Gardens, which thanks to the tunnel will double their present area. Burying the Docks promenade at this point will create 219 meters of covering surface, which will double the surface of the Pereda Gardens, taking them up to the sea. The underground passage will have two lanes in each direction, each one 3.5 meters wide, and will include a median strip and sidewalks.

This underground pass is protected by CO and NO2 detectors manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONCA and by anemometers, opacimeters and linear heat detection cable distributed by DURAN ELECTRONICA.
