The Arena Zagreb is a multipurpose indoor stadium for concerts, exhibitions, congresses, big shows such as Cirque du Soleil and Disney on Ice, among others, sports competitions such as basketball, handball, indoor soccer, volleyball, hockey, athletics and the final of the Davis Cup tennis. Figures such as Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Plácido Domingo have passed between their concerts.
Its uniquely designed construction, with 86 curved concrete columns connected by a semi-translucent polycarbonate shell across its entire main façade, has gone on to win the 2009 World Architecture Festival award for structural design.
It has room capacity for 16,500 seats and can accommodate up to 22,400 for concerts with perfect acoustics.
The adjoining area also includes the Arena Centar, which is the largest shopping center in Zagreb with a multiplex cinema, various restaurants and shops.
The Arena Zagreb and the Arena Centar share their facilities and for the parking lot located under the Arena Zagreb, the project called Dvorana Arena Zagreb has entrusted its protection by installing the DURPARK system with its CO detectors, designed and manufactured by Durán Electrónica.
