The Sousa Martins Hospital, located on Avenida Rainha Dona Amélia, is one of the most famous sanatoriums in Europe for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, although it also treats other specialities.
In 2008, and integrated in the hospital, the ULSG (Guarda Local Health Unit) was established for primary, hospital and palliative health care.
The hospital is composed of three main wards and other facilities such as pharmacies, chapel, laboratories, radiology station, etc. The hospital extension has an area of 47,000m2 and a hospital area of 23,000m2.
It is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with a high level of technology and comfort, in addition to ensuring the necessary means to increase research and training activities, as well as support in nutrition, psychology and social services.
It is equipped with the ALERT solution for the electronic prescription of medicines and diagnostic tests, which benefits, among others, pneumology services.
For its parking area, this new structure has chosen the DURPARK System for CO detection and the DURGAS System with its DURTEX HC PRO RS485 detectors, all designed and manufactured by Durán Electrónica.
