Gas detection and environmental control in railway tunnel
The Peña Rayada tunnel is part of the Valladolid-Venta de Baños-Palencia-León high speed (AVE) line that is itself part of the North-Northwest High Speed Corridor. The new line will reduce travelling time and increase security through the adoption of cutting-edge technologies in traffic regulation and by the absence of railroad crossings throughout its entire itinerary.
The Peña Rayada tunnel passes under the Páramo de Bárcena area and has a length of 1,998 meters. It has a single tube of 85 square meters of free section and has been designed to include a double high speed railroad.
This tunnel is protected by CO and O2 detectors designed and manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA, as well as by opacimeters and humidity and temperature sensors distributed by DURAN ELECTRONICA.
