CO detection in shopping area.
The Central Market was built at the beginning of the XX century with the objective of substituting open air markets for covered spaces that brought more comfort to users and better sanitary conditions. In September 1911 the City Council approved its construction and the municipal architect Josep M. Pujol I de Barberá was put in charge of its design. On 19th of December 1915 the modernist building was inaugurated.
In 2011 work started on its refurbishment. The new Central Market will have a supermarket in the lower floor, a logistical floor so that suppliers have an adequate space for loading and unloading, and two floors with carparks will be added to the existing ones.
The DURPARK system for CO and NO2 detection, designed and manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA, has been chosen to renovate the CO detection installation in this emblematic building.
