Gas detection and air quality control in tunnel

The Gambetta tunnel is an underground road located in Lima, Perú, whose itinerary passes in its entirey under the future second runway of the Jorge Chávez International Airport, activating traffic from North to South and vice versa. The purpose of the tunnel is to make traffic easier through the Néstor Gambetta Avenue, connecting the districts of Ventanilla and Callao.

This tunnel will shorten driving times by improving vehicular transit for more than 2 million people that live or drive frequently through the area of the project. It has a length of 960 meters and includes two roads for vehicles with three lanes each, a central tube for a future rail track and two evacuation galleries that will follow perpendicular to the vehicle roads, in the exterior part of the tunnel.

This tunnel complex is protected by CO and NO2 detectors designed and manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA, as well as by opacimeters and anemometers distributed by DURAN ELECTRONICA.
