DURGAS, Detection of O2 and CO2.

The National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA) has three technology campuses. At its headquarters, in Torrejón de Ardoz, there is the Astrobiology Center (CAB) inaugurated in 2003. It depends on the INTA and the CSIC and is the first center in the world associated with the NASA Astrobiology Institute. The CAB is dedicated to the investigation of the conditions of life in the Universe.

It includes the following Laboratories: Prebiotic Chemistry, Planetary Geology, Molecular Ecology, Cell cultures, Anaerobic chamber, Extremophilia, Optical Telemicroscopy, Microbial Evolution, Molecular Evolution, Isotopes and Planetary Impacts.

The intention was to provide each of these Laboratories with a Gas Detection and Alarm system in order to cover human and material risks due to leaks of the different gases existing in them. The DURGAS, EURODETECTOR O2, DURTEX HC PRO and DIREX CO2 systems designed and manufactured by DURÁN ELECTRÓNICA have been selected.
